Meet The Writers

Logan Rogers

Heyo! My name is Logan and I make up a third of the writing team on this here Anime Arcade!

A little bit about me: I’m a huge fan of all things gaming, anime, and books! My favorite genres are romance and slice of life, followed by comedy. My nerdiness began probably when I was a wee young lad and I started reading Harry Potter for the first time. That was when I really got hooked on reading! Around that time as well my family got its first gaming console: a Nintendo 64! I have fond memories of playing Ocarina of Time and Donkey Kong 64 which, in turn, sparked my interest in gaming. As for anime, I had seen bits and pieces of shows like Inuyasha on Adult Swim and Dragon Ball Z, but it wasn’t until about Fall of 2013 that I really dove into the world that is Japanese Animation after my brother recommended to me a show called Attack on Titan. As for my favorite games, anime and books, I’ll save that for later!

Some other fun facts about me!: I love food and cooking! My favorite kind of food is Chinese/Japanese and I hate seafood. My favorite style of beer is a hefeweizen and recently I’ve discovered the joy that is a vodka tonic! I like my living area to be as cold as possible and I can’t sleep with socks on! I love board games as well, some of my favorites being Munchkin, Love Letter, and Tokaido! If there’s anything else you want to know, feel free to hit me up on here or over on Twitter @loganrogerss!

Carlos Vidal

Hello my name is Carlos “BrOtaku” Vidal and I am one of the writers and co-founder of Anime Arcade. I am an avid fan of anime, video games, and sports (both traditional and e-sports). I started my road to otaku at around 12 when my uncle introduced me to great 80’s anime like Akira, Robotech, and Gundam and ever since then I’ve done my best to try to keep up with anime as a whole. I missed a lot in the early 2000’s and 10’s due to military service and a lack of content coming to the west, but now it’s easier than ever to watch all the content that I wasn’t able to in the past. My favorite genres to watch are fantasy, adventure, and harem!

As for video games, I started playing when I was 2 on my uncle’s NES and never looked back. Over the past few years I’ve become enthralled by the growing e-sports community in the west, and hope to capture the excitement of this movement in my future writing. I am also quite the beer fanatic, and this may or may not come through in my writing… apologies in advance. Follow me here or on twitter @BrOtaku87, Cheers!

Jeff Wagner

Hello! My name is Jeff (aka Giant_Robot_Hug) and I’m one of the brains here behind Anime Arcade. I’ve grown up with the influence of the Japanese in my life since the time I was 5 years old when my parents bought me my first Nintendo Entertainment System for Christmas, so it shouldn’t be surprising that I grew up to be a huge fan of anime and video games. I love my RPG’s, tactical games, action adventure, and while I like fighting games, I’m really quite terrible at them.

I started out with anime as a big fan of Dragon Ball Z back when it was airing on Toonami, though at the time, I don’t think I was really aware of what anime was; that was until a friend showed me the gem that is Chobits, and it’s constituted big part of my free time ever since. I’m a sucker for a good slice of life, and for a grown man, I get far too emotional during all the heavy moments that the genre tends to do so well.

I’m about as laid back as it gets… My idea of a perfect weekend is typically hanging out with my two Boston Terriers at home, and playing a game or watching something. I also like to build models from time to time, and I’ve recently joined the Star Wars costuming club (the 501st) as a Stormtrooper. I look forward to sharing more about myself, as well as my opinions on the different things we’re talking about here at Anime Arcade, and you can always follow me on Twitter @Giant_Robot_Hug!
